Hi Blue - Well, I know your pain, but I’ve turned that around to a vision for a healthy future.  Don’t think of yourself on a DIET (four letter word), but as a healthy life style change.  Obsessing over it only keeps it in the forefront of your mind, so just let it happen over the course of a month.  You have a pretty stretch goal loosing 30 lbs in a month and a half.  So please don’t beat yourself up about it. It only makes it worse.  Relaxxxxxxxxx - enjoy life.  That’s my plan, and it is working.  I’ve only lost four lbs in the course of three weeks, but hey - I’m happy with that.  Its a huge start in the right direction.

As for the treadmill - I could use that advise too.  I keep telling myself just walk out the door, but so far that hasn’t happened, but I know it will.

I’m an early bird by nature so getting up early is easy.  I go to bed between 8:30 and 9:30 every night. I get up between 3:30 and 4:30 every morning.  I workout after getting lunch for hubby and a cup of coffe for my brain and body.  Working out for 20 minutes doing the YOU plan, by Dr. Oz, is best thing I do all day.

Try www.realage.com for some tips and advise on really getting yourself moving and motivated.

    Best wishes, T

Morning Blue….First of all don’t beat yourself over trying to lose the 30 lbs by May. I no you want to do it, but take it a day at a time..It will come off before you no it..I get up every Mon-Fri at 3 am and fix breakfast for me and my sweetie, pack lunch for him and send him on his way and I still stay up all day and don’t go to bed until around 11 or so..It sure does help to get online early in the morning and read the Blogs from our buddies and that helps to keep you on track. It does me for sure. About excercise equipment..Go to Ubid.com and see if they have anything cheap. I get stuff from there all the time.. I got a refurnished DVD portable player for 99 dollars and it was 399.00..It has all the bells and whistles. It even had the surround sound for it..Even my friend got two computers from there. One desktop and the other a laptop. They are just like new…It’s easy and the site is secure to order on..Hope that helps you..Keep on track cause I no you can and I will be watching you…BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO turn around I see you. lol lol  Huggs

I know how frustrating it can be to gain back some of the weight you lost! Are you getting at least 1/2 gallon of water per day? If not, that would be an excellent change in the right direction!

I naturally start to wake up when the sun starts to shine through my window (unless I was up until like 3AM.) My daughter on the other hand likes to sleep in. I know you probably don’t have anyone jumping at the chance to baby you, but see if you can incorporate any of these ideas into your routine to help:

To help my daughter get up on time, I have a few rules for her. When we stick to these rules, she usually wakes up like 2 or 3 minutes before the alarm! First, figure out how much sleep your body personally needs. Try to go to bed at least that many hours before time to get up. I am usually ok on 7 hours of sleep, so I try to go to bed 7 1/2 hours before time to get up. My four year old needs 10 hours of sleep, so I try to put her to bed 10 1/2 hours before time to get up.

I also limit food intake for my daughter and I before bed time. My goal is for our tummies to start getting a little rumbly about 15 to 30 minutes before time to get up. By the way, a little tip that I plan on trying soon… One weightloss book that I read suggested that you eat a small amount of protien (such as a piece of grilled chicken) before bed to help keep your metabolism going.

I have been looking for a treadmill too. I was going to get a manual one because that is what I can afford, but another buddyslim member advised me against it. She suggested that I get an urban rebounder (similar to a mini trampoline). I thought if nothing else it would be fun for my daughter, so I got one. Wow! My legs felt like jello the first few times I got off of it! I had to hold on to the bar to keep from falling. But after that my legs started to feel much stronger which in turn made it easier for me to walk long distances when the weather permits. (Last Sunday, 5 or 6 miles and I still had plenty of energy!)

The friend that I walked with said that his mother recently got a Gazelle Exercise Machine. He said it was a lot of fun! I am trying to figure out if I can spare the money or the space to get one. I know I can’t afford a good treadmill at this time, but after almost 2 months with the rebounder (which I still enjoy by the way) I am ready to add a little more variety to my workout.

Oh hon don’t be to hard on yourself.. everyone needs a break now and then and look at the WONDERFUL work you have done already… keep up the good work you can do it.

As far as getting up early hmmm I set my alarm clock 1/2 hour before I want to get up so I can push my snooze then on week days I wake at 4:00 so I can get some “me time” I shower and do my toning with some small weights shave my legs or I might primp a lil or get on the computer with leftover time before waking the zoo for school.. 4:30 AM is the only time my house is quiet and I can get some alone time so it makes me excited to get up and just be alone with myself.
